Unfortunately I do not own any apple devices. Testing in Safari not easy. I also do not know the update policy if apple.
Can you please provide the Safari version of your IPhone? What browser do you use on your laptop?
I checked the Safari versions on Wikipedia. Safari 14 is end of life since September 13, 2021. Is there any way to update the browser, or why are you pinned to this old version? I want to understand the impact of this problem and how far back I have to to support older browers.
I guess the problem is some CSS bug with Safari 14:

It actually does work with an updated browser. I switched devices.

Ipad and IPhone: iOS 16.7.1 - display works fine
Have updated the older ipad - and thanks for enabling tooltips. Seems to have done the trick
