I agree. My playing area is too small. I don't always need to see what my opponent is playing.

the reason a zoom is needed is when building the plants (root, flower, fruit) adjacently isn't sufficient. It's dependant on stem connection. It's incredibly hard to see sometimes. If the cards being laid could enlarge so you can see what you're doing, it would help prevent expensive mistakes.

From noon on, I am really struggling to place new pieces. The cards in my playing area are way too small to see the connection points on each of my existing tiles.

This may be a "picture is worth a thousand words" situation in many cases. If you'd like to share what you're seeing, it may help.

37 days ago, you asked the reviewers of the alpha game to give approval for this game, but since more than 90 days, this issue is still open (I.e. status „awaiting“). This is currently the bug report with the most votes, but it seems as if the developer does not work on it, they even do not acknowledge that this is an issue.
By the way, there are other open issues, that may improve the visibility of the player area: remove the preview of the boards in the player information AND move the player areas of the opponents below the player area of the current play (so that the player area of the current player can use 100% of the browser‘s width, which would zoom it at least with factor 2x)
Do not expect me to approve the game, as long as you do not work in this issue in one way or another. The size of the player area is too small, the browser zoom is not a useful workaround.
