While hesitating between two routes, I did not remove the additional assistants and they happened to stay on the board. Furthermore, one of my assistants is now placed on the canal and I will not be able to get it back.

In this game, I placed 5 assistants despite only having 3 in hand!

I think the problem was I selected a few areas during the "Foreign agent" query at the start of my turn, then didn't use the agent.

Based on the history, it clearly shows a problem with the placement of assistants. It should be impossible to place an assistant on the Canal, and more than 3 assistants (or 4 with some tech). Investigation starts and it must be fixed.

Fixing bug #17694 also takes care of this problem. Selected tiles marked in the DB were not cleared properly which cause assistant placement to include previously selected tiles. Fixed in current version.
