Detaljeret beskrivelse
• Forklar venligst dit forslag præcist og sammenfattende, så det er så let som muligt at forstå, hvad du mener.
Castles of Burgundy is a game, if played well, in which you can maximise your score by creating combinations of actions based on the tiles you take. The undo function takes you back to the beginning of your turn. If you have begun your turn which has several combos, and you realise you have made a mistake on the the last part/action of the combo, you don't really want to go back to the beginning of your whole turn. Therefore, a facility that allows you, as an alternative option, to undo the last action/part of your turn would be very convenient.• Hvilken browser bruger du?

I considered this option while coding this implementation (for the same reason), and my conclusion was that since you can easily review your cancelled actions in the game log to redo them (the dice numbers and the tiles you took or placed are easily visible in the log), it would not worth risking to add bugs. I don't set this suggestion as rejected, but please vote for it ony if you think that it would really improve gameplay a lot and that redoing your actions by looking at the game log is not convenient at all.

3. apr 2021 2:30 • I agree with @jennakaya. At the very least, when we're placing tile, let us click on a different tile or un-click the die to let us do something else rather than have to redo everything from beginning.

15. apr 2021 11:12 • It's now possible to easily unselect a selected tile without having to undo your whole turn. I think it will remove a great part of the annoyance of not being able to undo only your last action (as mentioned by jennakaya and dmk11), but since the original suggestion was to always allow to undo your last action, I don't set this suggestion report to "Implemented" (and hope that the change I made will be enough to satisfy players).

Not only because it will risk introducing new bugs, but also because the physical game does not easily support undoing your turn either. An in-person undo risks messing up the board-state because you forgot e.g. which depot a tile came from or where you placed it in your estate.
Like the physical game, you should be encouraged to plan out your turn in your head and execute it. The undo provided in this digital implementation is more than enough, and is already an advantage compared to the physical "undo".

I often ran into the problem myself to have to go back the whole turn for one wrong click. but as in real life depending on which you sit at the table playing it alive with a real board you also cannot redo your choice or move. the risk of implementing new bugs is higher than this comfortable option ... So in case the game is stable and it would not to be work and too risky it would be nice to have but at a very low priority. There are other issues that I consider more urgent than this. You still can go back completely and start over so nothing is really lost.

9. jul 2021 6:48 • I ran into this issue when I used my second die to pick a tile from the main board, only to realize my storage was full. The game prompted me to "discard a tile" from my storage, with no "cancel" option to change my mind about taking a tile with the second die. I had to start the whole turn over. Just simply being able to unselect the tile from the board should be an option - or reclick the die to reset the choice. Something.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I would need answers to know how I should implement this (IF I implement this, which is still not sure).

If the cost/benefit shows that even a per-dice undo is too much, then the full undo is fine.

The way the game flow as you can see the players making their moves is fine and the option to start over is ok to the point that a partial undo does not seem necessary.
I think this thread can be concluded.
Thanks

If my move involves half a dozen steps then, for example, I end with placing a ship and taking goods, then I realise I took the wrong goods, it can actually be difficult to remember and replay the sequence of moves that got me there.
Undoing the last step would be so much easier.
I would love to have an incremental (decremental, really) undo in addition to the current 'cancel my turn' option.
And if players think it would be too confusing, then they don't have to use it. Or maybe the developers (clever people that they are) could make it a selectable option, to include or not include that facility.

8. apr 2024 23:55 • As someone quite new to this game, I support the incremental undo option due the timer. In table-top play you do not have a timer, where online there is one (thankfully!) and I have gone over my time limit as I've had to redo several steps. I don't have the strategy down yet to play as quickly as I would hope, and when you add more players there is more to think through. Thank you for BGA, I love it!
