I'm perfectly able to mute soundson mobile, could you double-check and try to set in on/off and try again ?
Did you notice some standard BGA sounds playing other than the gems and chips sounds ?

I’ve never had any sound play on BGA when I’ve had my phone on mute (which I always do) - I went into settings and sound and turned the volume switch all the way down but I’m still getting the sound effects coming through.
Is there another way to turn them off?
It just seems strange that I’ve never had sound effects on any other games.

Agreed, I am also experiencing this issue and only with this specific game. It happens in both Chrome for iOS and Safari and there does not appear to be any setting where I can turn off the sound effects.

Confirmed board game arena volume is all the way down in account preferences yet the Splendor volume on mobile persists with no way to disable the sound effects.

Go to the game and put your phone into landscape mode. You'll see the speaker icon in the white bar, top-right corner. Click it to toggle the sounds, make sure it shows a speaker without sound waves like🔈 instead of 🔊
If the speaker shows no sound waves, both the BGA standard sounds and the custom sounds of Splendor should be muted.

I did follow the instructions to put phone into landscape and disable the sounds there, however this does not persist after changing applications on my phone and returning to the game, the sounds returned and I had to disable them again using these instructions. Was able to experience this issue in Chrome as well as Safari.

I also wanted to chime in that the BGA sounds like when it's my turn were muted on other turn based games I was playing in the same browser along with their sounds effects, but changing back to the Splendor game brought both the. BGA and Splendor sound effects back with no adjustment on my part to the BGA volume settings I had previously lowered.

This is the only BGA game that plays sound on mobile - and it does not have any way to mute it.

I also have this issue on my iPhone on Safari. My phone is always in silent mode. None of the other BGA games make noises when my phone is on silent—except for Splendor. I can still hear sound of the chip noises.

Mine is playing sounds on a game when my phone is on silent and there are no sounds in any other game I’m playing (including another game of splendor)

PLEASE implement this-
No other BGA game has sound on mobile and while I’m not against being able to turn on the sound, i doing want to be forced to have it on.
This has been repeatedly commented on with further info.
I have had to remove the game from my favorites and played again today, but it regret it as the sounds are so grating. Will not play again until this is addressed

I have the same issue. I play on Chrome for iOS and sounds always play even though I have the sound turned off across the board

I have my sound preferences to only play sounds for "It's my turn", but I still get the 'custom' Splendor sounds like when people take gems, or when nobles are taken.

I am also experiencing this issue for this game, I have my preferences set for sound volume all the way down. I still get sounds when taking tokens for this game. Please fix!

I also have this problem. I have all my sound preferences set to no sound except for "it's my turn" and "clock negative alarm" but I still hear sounds gems and cards are taken on my PC laptop while playing Splendor

This is an issue on iPad, iPhone, and windows laptop - all sounds are set to off or mired and Splendor just does it’s own thing somehow. It’s magical!

I want to be able to play this game on mobile and listen to a podcast at the same time. When I play podcast the sound effects from the game trigger the podcast to turn off.

I was hoping the new sound controls showing on the user profile meant that this issue would be addressed, but it is not.

I am experiencing this issue. I have tried everything mentioned above, including turning it on landscape mode and disabling the sound + turning it down all the way.

This happens for me as well on my iPhone, using chrome. Very annoying and wakes my wife up when the site is supposed to be muted but it comes through anyway when selecting gems to take.

If listening to music on Spotify, YouTube etc. while playing Splendor the music is stopped and a chip sound is played each time someone makes a move.

I honestly don't know what information the developers need - what we want is for ALL custom Splendor sounds to be opt IN rather than default on. I do not want to have to put up with the noise, I do not want to have any music playing be stopped - not just paused but actively stopped to the point whereby I have to exit BGA and enter Spotify to restart it -, and I do not want to have to double check that every single possible way for noise to be created is muted on my phone and even then you might still hear the sounds. I have selected for there to be no noises across the board on BGA and there is a reason for that. Also, the noise particularly of the chips grating is an awful noise.

Wouldn’t mind the chip choice sound if it didn’t override what I was listening to on YouTube or other apps. However, surely best to have it set to off as default, then opt in to sounds.

Splendor sound was off for a while (several weeks/months) but randomly came back yesterday with me having changed settings. All of my sounds are muted for everything else and I hate that sounds are on for this. It makes the game unplayable on my mobile as it disrupts other activities around me.

I can’t find a way to mute the in game noises even after setting them to no sound. I’m trying to listen to a podcast while playing but can’t because the audio stops every 2 seconds. Please fix this!

In the Splendor game on iPhone, a sound is raised each time I click on a gem. In setting all sound effects are turned off.

I am also having this issue. It’s extremely annoying. I’ve tried clicking the button from the landscape view (which by the way landscape view is not a playable view for this game- but that’s another issue). But the button that is specific for this game only that says something like click here to disable sound with the picture of the 🔊 is not clickable and does absolutely nothing. My sound setting on BGA is turned off completely, but the sound for this game alone is the only one that makes sound whenever my phone is not silenced. I see no other way to disable the sounds. I’m not sure if other games have sounds if they do the sound turned off seems to work for them but not for this game. Someone needs to fix this highly annoying bug.

It catches me off guard every time. I’m laying in bed, my wife is asleep, I’m catching up on the 10+ turned based games I’m playing, and when Splendor shows up I completely forget and take a token resulting in a jarring, loud chip sound that wakes my wife. I play many different games at once without any sound, except for this one.

Same issue for me. All other games are quiet, but I can't turn Splendor sounds off, so I have to skip making my move in this game when it's late at night or in quiet environment.

Same for me! Can someone take care of this? This is anoint as shutting down any music that is played on the phone, to play the chips sound!
They are many options in that game but not the one to turn off sound effects.

I have the same issue, iPhone safari. My phone is on mute and my settings for sound is muted on BGA but game sounds still coming through. Only started happening recently it never used to but it’s super annoying!

I don’t play Splendor anymore because of the intrusive sounds but now other games are doing it. All my sound preferences are off. Now Yahtzee has a roll dice sound but I can turn it off with the in game options. CuBirds and Seikatsu have flapping bird sounds. I can turn them off for Seikatsu with options but NOT for CuBirds. BGA designers, please don’t add sounds that cannot be controlled by the settings in preferences. These sounds stop my audiobooks and I need to leave BGA to restart them. When playing lots of turn based games this is extra frustrating.

Now there’s another version of splendor but this one is is still unplayable due to the inability to mute the sounds. The only other game I have this problem with is Yahtzee, there’s no drop down menu to turn off dice rolling or card/token taking I guess? PLEASE fix this!!

The sound of chips clinking comes through on my iPhone. The 20 other games I play on BGA are muted. Why does the sound still come through on this game when people have been complaining about it since 2021? If the general mute button isn't working maybe create a separate mute button for this game.

This is a problem! Splendor is the only game on BGA where sounds happen even if your settings are set to mute.

I may found the solution.
Below the games (near 'credits' and 'strategy tips', there is music note icon.
When I click it, the ambience video is playing in bottom area.
After I pause the video, the usual bga chimes sound become normal.

It is still unplayable with all these annoying sounds after your latest big maintenance. In Safari, all games stop music on Safari iPhone mobile but also on Redmi mobile. Not limited to awful Splendor chips sounds.
Please add option to remove ALL sounds for all games in any case.
