I know there are logs on the upper left. For mobiles users, it’s better to show last move in turn based games, like “a red circle around the move”. Players could read the table quickly. Thx.• Hvilken browser bruger du?

13. sep 2023 19:05 • I experimented with this feature during development but never was really with it. Typically I not only want to see my opponents last move but also mine. Since both players could have moved onto the same spot, that would be not so clear.
Also a move could have been made so that the moving piece lost contact to the DVONN pieces and got removed. Another potential iritation for some.
Finally when thinking about the other games of the GIPF series already, there are some where a player does multiple actions. From my point of view, a replay is just better.
BUT: I also play on mobile from time to time and had a hard time hitting that tiny replay button above the move table. I made the board (edge where no pieces are) clickable and trigger the replay button this way.
Does that help you?

Some of the other GIPF games have more complicated moves - even multiple actions, e.g. YINSH:
- put marker into ring
- move ring
- turn some markers
- remove markers (when 5 in a row) - could include the marker just put before
- remove ring - could be the ring that just moved
So many highlights, so much confusion!
Just press replay, or do it step by step for better clarity if new the game!
Easy! :)

You don't have to review the log. You just click on the replay button and see both your own and the opponents last move.
On mobile, you can also "click" anywhere on the outer rim of the board (where no pieces are) to trigger the same.
