SEASON 8 START

Hi everyone, we are finally back in action! Today is the official beginning of Season 8. Wonder which games you get to explore the next four months? Curious which amazing people you get to experience these with? Check out your Group on our official spreadsheet with all the information: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kBkMz3ZqTOZgv3L8cqURHIfMTH9iBDbeJ_ttyAOOgSY. Use the "Rankings" tab to find the group you're in. Click the link on the letter of your group to get directly to your group’s sheet. There you can find all your matches and the games you get to play!

When can I start playing my games?
Immediately is a good time! Talk to your division mates which games you would like to start first. We have updated our rules requiring all of us to start their first three total games within the first two weeks of the Season. This should not change anything for anyone who kept pace in previous Seasons, just a little nudge to not postpone too much. Talk to your Coaches if you have any issues/questions.


I've finished a game, what now?
First of all, we hope you enjoyed learning a new game or playing one of your old favorites! Every game on your group's tab on the google sheet links to a pre-filled google form where you can report the result. If that link doesn't work, here's a link to the empty form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSevcJA75uVAsYB0LlD3K5Sn5RWU45WMKYRxujz91fKHShv5Pw/viewform. Coordinate with your opponent who fills this out so you don't end up duplicating work; often the winner is a good choice to submit!

I see only 3 games revealed against every opponent. How can I see what's next?
We reveal games in batches, because having to look through a list of 63 games at once can be quite overwhelming. Once you've finished all three games, and the admins have confirmed the results, the next three will appear. Additionally, at 1 and 2 months in we'll automatically reveal a new set of games as well.

Something isn't quite right, what should I do?
We also make mistakes!
This is a big event, and we like that, but that also means stuff happens and admins can't see and know everything. Please reach out to the admins or your coach directly and we'll try to resolve it for you!

Step 1 of your registration is done. To complete registration, we need you to fill the veto form with the games you wish to exclude from your game pool. If you don’t want to exclude any games - that’s absolutely possible and there’s an option for that (first checkbox on the form), but you still need to fill the form to complete your registration.

Deadline: April 30th. But if you can, please do it within a few days because at some point we will start hunting down those who didn’t.

People who don’t fill the form will be removed from the registration-list (because we really need to be sure you are involved enough in playing this event and filling out your results later on as well).

The amount of vetoes you can set depends on the group that you are in. To fill groups up to 8 players, we have promoted (or not relegated) some extra players. Among these are some express-tickets for players promoting 2 divisions, to honor their overwhelming performances. Please check out which group you are in here:

We're ready for Season 8 of the Allround League. Are you too? The games will begin the 10th of May and the season runs over 4 months.

WHAT IS ALLROUND LEAGUE:
The Allround League is a tournament in which you will play 7 matches (against players from an 8 player group) with each 9 games. These games are randomly drawn from a game pool of 80 games of all kinds. The winner of the most games wins the 1 vs 1 match. The winner of the most matches wins the group. All-in-all this means you will play 63 (largely different) games. Games are played in turn-based mode and started as it suits you and your opponent (but there are some deadlines).

REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPATE:
To participate, you need to be (or become) a versatile player and active on matters around the league. So before you register please make sure you can meet the following:
* Be ready to play (and possibly learn) up to 63 different randomly chosen games (21 each month)
* Check the tournament-sheets regularly to know what to play with whom
* Talk to your opponents and open game tables with the appropriate settings (there is no automatic tool for this format)
* Fill the veto form in time (even if you want 0 vetoes!). If you're unavailable in that week, please contact us in advance.
* Fill a google-form with the result for each game you have won soon after it finished
* Be nice and fair to other players and positive towards the games!

1 April '25 ----- Registration starts. Game pool announced.
20 April '25 ----- Registration closes. Players in Gold, Silver and Bronze Groups announced
20-30 April '25 -- Set vetoes for your games
10 May '25 ------ League starts : Batch 1 games (3 against each opponent) get revealed
10 June '25 ----- Checkpoint 1: Starting of batch 1 games can no longer be rejected. Please start the games!
17 June '25 ----- Reveal 1: Any batch 2 games that are not visible yet, will be revealed.
17 July '25 ----- Checkpoint 2: Starting of batch 2 games can no longer be rejected. Please start the games!
24 July '25 ----- Reveal 2: Any batch 3 games that are not visible yet, will be revealed.
24 Aug '25 ----- Checkpoint 3: Starting of batch 3 games can no longer be rejected. Please start the games! New time setting: 3 moves/day
10 Sep '25 ----- Season finishes. We expect all games to be finished then.

The room in this event is not limited, so don’t worry about rushing to be first on the list. It is more important that everybody knows what they are committing to, to avoid dropouts during the season. CLOSING OFF SEASON 7: RESULTS & FEEDBACK-SURVEY

Hello everyone,

Another season of the allround league is past us in which this time over 4000 games were played. A new record, and with that our 7th season has come to a close!
We've closed the result form, and as such all results from now on don't count towards the season anymore. You can of course still finish your games that are ongoing.

THANKS AND NEXT SEASON

We want to thank all of you for yet another fun and smooth season. It was a pleasure to see everything run so smooth, without any real hick-ups and because everybody nicely filled in their result. That truly helped us a lot, thank you!

We hoped all of you enjoyed the season, and welcome any feedback in the form listed before.

For next season (at least 3-6 months out), we would welcome some fresh blood to support us as hosts of this event. Most work will be in: writing these posts from time to time, validating results, and resolve small-conflicts (tell players to hurry on a bit)

WINNERS

— Gold Division —
For the second year in a row we can congratulate our co-host, Silene with a clear victory in the Gold group. Congrats! With 6/7 and a +20 an impressive feat against such formidable opponents.
In 2nd and 3rd places we find Nicolas21 and Fletcheese respectively, with 5/7 wins and a difference of 1 delta, it was a super close race. In 4th place denjoh is the final player to secure himself a top spot for the next season.


— Silver Division —
Group S
Already a few weeks ago Niall crowned himself the champion of this group with an impressive 7/7 (later 6/6) result, steaming ahead of the competition both in pace and in points. Behind him we find SiriusBunch And Fantomat both with 3/5 wins, However with a slightly higher delta of +4 SiriusBunch takes the 2nd place and promotion spot.


Group T
In the other Silver group we also found ourselves a clear winner. With a perfect score (5/5) Castz takes the title! The 2nd place was a close match between postmans and alvinyu20, both finishing with 3/5 wins. Although alvin won the direct duel with a close 5:4 result, postmans sneaked in a higher delta overal with +8. Sadly we also saw 2 players drop out of the results in this group.


— Bronze —
Group A
In our first bronze group rwew showed all his opponents how the game is played. Winning all matches he can be crowned our champion. Behind him we have a new unique situation. A shared 2nd place! With both 5/7 wins and a +14 delta HeirOfIsildur11 and Zish117 ended in exactly the same place. Maybe the 11 (1-1) in both their names was a sign to make this happen. As we believe that ties should be ties they will share the 2nd place, and the promotion right associated with it.

Group B
The Kestrel won this group with a solid 6/7 score. The only one who could take a point away from him was Pyrple, who ended in 4/5 points, just in front of CheckSam (who in turn beat Pyrple) and Jonitis who both ended in 4/7 points.



Group C
In group C we find two players with 6/7 games won: beckmast and ThePr1ceIsWrong. With a delta of +17 vs +6 ThePr1ceIsWrong takes the first place. Interestingly our 3rd place, Dave Tompkins had a super impressive +26 delta. The highest delta between all bronze, silver and gold groups. But by winning the direct match ThePr1ceIsWrong made sure to guarantee their first spot.


— Copper —
Group V
This group nicely completed all matches, showing us the power of copper. Here again we had a very close and exciting race for the title. With two players ending with 6 out of 7 matches won. In the end Rikerslash comfortably took the win with an impressive +38 delta to VemRD’s +19 delta. While VemRD won their direct matchup he was outmatched by Cheery Dog in turn. On the 3rd place we find Zeena1, just out-deltaing Cheery Dog.


Group W
A second copper group, and a second set of all completed matches! Serenach won this group handily, winning all 6 matches and with a +33 delta, congrats! RMGreen put up a strong showing for second place with 5 out of 6 matches won, and John Davis completed the podium with 4 points. Shout out to everyone in this group as there are only 3 unplayed games left across the entire group!

Group X
Despite some dropouts in this group we also had a lot of enthusiastic players and yet another group that finished almost all games. Hzyxl managed to win the group with all 4 matches won and a +21 delta, followed closely by Guizeppe with 3 match wins. The remaining players NCFCRulz, prog_me and yo65 all managed to win 1 match, thanks to all for keeping the enthusiasm high in this small group!

Group Y
Sadly we had 2 players not complete in this group. Nevertheless we found a clear winner in LetoTheTooth who won 4/4 matches with a solid +17 delta. In 2nd we find thenthar, with 3/5 wins. And with 2 out of 4 matches won SudburyGamer completes our podium in 3rd place.

Group Z
This group saw one of the most dominant performances of the entire league, with 1048576 winning 56 of their 58 games played, inevitably clinching the top spot with all 7 matches won. While Acid_Snake wasn’t able to beat this impressive performance they were able to win all of their remaining matches to secure a second place. StephBXL wasn’t able to finish their deciding game against turnover13, but despite that they still secured a third place by winning 4 of their other matches.

— Iron —
Group I
The first iron group and yet another group with all matches completed! Please take note everyone, the spirit is high! Not for the first time we see a group decided by someone winning all 7 matches, congratulations genzo_ for an impressive season! To complete the podium two players both managed to win 5 matches, but ivanyv managed to get the higher game delta to secure second place over Yenergy.

Group J
Welcome to the first of two groups that finished not just all their matches, but all the games! The spirit and enthusiasm was high in this group and we love to see it. A well-deserved shout out to AmethystLocks, AndreZot, Caliban06, Doow, elektropg, Saberking555, Sharon F and stopherjones!! In addition to the enthusiasm this was also a very closely contested group, with three players ending with 6 of 7 matches won, meaning the delta was the only thing separating these players. Grabbing the bronze medal with a +7 delta is stopherjones, barely losing out to the 2nd place of elektropg with a delta of +17. The top spot is reserved for Caliban06 with an impressive +35 delta.


Group K
Welcome to the second of two groups that finished all their games! That’s right, back to back groups! Thanks to andiestuffiegirl, Erick_C, Freddy_James, ren v hoek, taloncarde, thelastcoyote and Tocus. The top spot of this group went to Tocus who went 6 for 6 with a +34 delta, but the rest of the group was incredibly close. Freddy_James scored 3.5 points to secure 2nd and the third place goes to andiestuffiegirl with 3 points. Everyone in this group scored at least 2 points, well done to everyone!

Group L
SecretCaveman got a 7 out of 7 score and a super impressive +41 delta. A clear and distinct win. In 2nd place we find Skippy2257, who also made easy work of most competition with 6 out of 7 wins, only having to accept SecretCaveman as a step too much. Rafajam86 completes the podium with 4 out of 6 matches won, beating jda on delta for 3rd place.

Group M
A top 3 with close deltas, +29 to +14. However only one of them managed to win all matches. Mitapelataan is the champion in group M with a clean 7 out of 7 score. Behind them we find two players at 5 out of 7 wins. But with +22 delta HoganLong is our 2nd place finisher. 3rd place goes to Vainvain01, with the same match score, but a slightly lower delta.

Group N
Group N was another group where every match got completed. And after everything was played out, and the dust settled ObliviousRex didn’t lose a single match. And as such is crowned the champion of group N. They did this with a very impressive +48 delta, the 2nd best performance over the whole league. For the 2nd place the competition was fierce. Eagl27 and jamesgore both won 5 of the matches. However with a +23 delta eagl came out as a clear 2nd place finisher.

Group O
In group O everything was close, with most players being able to get some interesting upsets and very decent deltas. Although Kunizial lost to abjs, they managed to win all other matches and secure a victory in the group that way. On 2nd place we find meangran with a solid 5/7 points. In third place we find abjs, who managed to beat both the first and 2nd place finishers. Solid and close race in the top!

FINAL BENCHMARK - PLEASE START ALL UNSTARTED GAMES

We are nearing the end of the tournament, on the 15th of November we want to have all games finished.
That is a hard deadline to allow players (but also us as organizers) to take a break from the allround league. This also means that after that date results that are entered won't count anymore.

To make sure all games can finish by then we urge you to create your games that have not yet started over the next few days, and to do so with 3 moves per day to ensure a finish on 15th of November.
If your opponent declines the invite you can claim the victory, and from the other side, if you are not ready for a game this is the time to forfeit that game.

OUR FIRST WINNERS

So far into the tournaments many of the groups already have a clear winner who can proudly declare they are one of our season 7 champions!
In Silver S Niall has blasted away the competition to win with a 7/7 score!
In Bronze A rwew is at 6/6, this looks almost secured, but Zish can make it a bit more excited if it will be 6/7
In Copper we have serenach, 1048576 and Hzyxl as clear 7/7 victors already.
In Iron genzo_, Focus, SecretCaveman, and ObliviousRex have a clean 7/7 victory.
Also Kininzial with 6/7 and Caliban06 with the same score can be crowned champions. As well as Mitapelataan with 6/6 who can’t be overtaken anymore.
We want to point out how close group J was, with three people finishing 6/7, something I have never seen before!

We hope all of you enjoyed the event so far, and now it’s time to finish it.

Checkpoint 2 has passed: September 22nd. So time to get all those batch 2 games on the road.. Starting now, there are no more excuses to delay games from the second batch ;). That means that from now on - invitations to those 3 games of each match have to be accepted. Not accepting the invite ultimately means you forfeit the game.

We want to again give you a brief explanation about how to handle this in cases where you can’t reach your opponent or don’t get them to join your game-invitation.

Open the game tables and invite your opponent. If they don’t join and the table expires, please contact us. We aim to have a fun and friendly tournament, so would love to avoid forced forfeits - so we might try one more time, to get the game started. If these efforts fail - the game(s) will be a free win for you.

---> You already tried to set up the games earlier?
That’s great but it wasn’t a binding requirement for your opponent to join back then. So please open the tables again now and please contact one of the admin team if your opponent doesn’t join again.

---> You are the one not ready for those games?

Unfortunately ChiefPointThief had to withdraw from the League. Luckily we had a player on the waitlist who is well qualified for bronze division from an earlier season. Jonitis is taking the spot - welcome back to the league! None of the games of the earlier draw has finished so we decided to keep the same game-draw. However - the games might’ve changed slightly due to the different vetoes (previously vetoed games might show up now and new vetoed games will disappear).

> CHECKPOINT 1 ON AUGUST 15th

Checkpoint 1 is near: August 15th. So you have a few more days to prepare all of your games of the first batch. Starting August 15th, there are no more excuses to delay games from the first batch ;). That means that from then on - invitations to those first 3 games of each match have to be accepted. Not accepting the invite ultimately means you forfeit the game.

It’s still 5 days ahead of time, but - because it’s the weekend and we find the time to make this announcement - we now want to give you a brief explanation about how to handle this in cases where you can’t reach your opponent or don’t get them to join your game-invitation.

Open the game tables and invite your opponent. If they don’t join and the table expires, please contact us. We aim to have a fun and friendly tournament, so would love to avoid forced forfeits - so we might try one more time, to get the game started. If these efforts fail - the game(s) will be a free win for you.

---> You already tried to set up the games earlier?
That’s great but it wasn’t a binding requirement for your opponent to join back then. So please open the tables again now and please contact one of the admin team if your opponent doesn’t join again.

---> You are the one not ready for those games?

Hi everyone, it's time to get the party started! We're near the official start date of July 15th. Wonder which games you get to explore the next three months? Curious which amazing people you get to experience these with? When can I start playing my games?
Have some time this weekend? You can start befriending your group and learning the games you need to learn. We start the 15th of July, so that’s when you can open your first tables! However, please reach out to your opponents first. They might be busy or even have to read the rules! When both of you are ready, send out an invite and get started!

I've finished a game, what now?
First of all, we hope you enjoyed learning a new game or playing one of your old favorites! Every game on your group's tab on the google sheet links to a pre-filled google form where you can report the result. If that link doesn't work, here's a link to the empty form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSczMk0aqL63eAm8JfFHoK3FUkC9tI73Wx-7lagt7W7o2H-XlA/viewform. Coordinate with your opponent who fills this out so you don't end up duplicating work; often the winner is a good choice to submit!

I see only 3 games revealed against every opponent. How can I see what's next?
We reveal games in batches, because having to look through a list of 63 games at once can be quite overwhelming. Once you've finished all three games, and the admins have confirmed the results, the next three will appear. Additionally, at 1 and 2 months in we'll automatically reveal a new set of games as well.

Something isn't quite right, what should I do?
We also make mistakes!
This is a big event, and we like that, but that also means stuff happens and admins can't see and know everything. Please reach out to the admins directly and we'll try to resolve it for you!

GREETINGS TO SEASON 7

Hello everyone!

Registration is done. Season 7 will have 144 players, so we will have 18 groups of 8 players each. Unfortunately some players had to withdraw from registration or turned unresponsive on filling the veto form. But that made us hit a multiple of 8 players, so all groups are complete.

We see a lot of returnees this season. 99 of us have played in Season 6 or earlier. That’s a lot of players to welcome our 45 newbies. Let’s all help them get settled
.

We will now prepare the groups and the tournament-sheets, so we can all start playing next week.

Step 1 of your registration is done. To complete registration, we need you to fill the veto form with the games you wish to exclude from your game pool. If you don’t want to exclude any games - that’s absolutely possible and there’s an option for that (first checkbox on the form), but you still need to fill the form to complete your registration.

All-in-all this means you will play 63 (largely different) games. Games are played in turn-based mode and started as it suits you and your opponent (but there are some deadlines).

GAME POOL FOR SEASON 7

It is done - we made a game pool :D. This season we’re gonna increase the pool a bit so we’re gonna have 80 games.

ABOUT THE GAME SELECTION:
First of all we’re very sorry. Although it has been suggested as a game to be considered for next season multiple times: we will not add CATAN to the game pool
it is… well… not a 2-player-game ^^

But we do have some old favorites along with some exciting new additions.
We took out the least popular games and cycled a few that have been in the allround league for a while. We hope that in the end there’s something for every taste.

If there are any serious issues (severe bugs, playability with 2p / in turn-based, etc…) with any of the selected games please let us know!

And yeah, we give Innovation another try
- so to all those who were longing for this so desperately: Do your best to teach us folks and spread your enthusiasm


WHY DID WE INCREASE THE POOL-SIZE:
It has regularly come up in feedback that many of you would like to put a limit on how many times games can come up across your matches. Unfortunately restricting the game draw like that is a very difficult task that would require a lot of work that we can’t afford at the moment. So we decided to increase the game pool to at least reduce the chances of games coming up in too many matches.
Also we think many of you have played in Allround League for a while and thus already know a lot of games, so we’re sure you can handle a few more

Hello everyone


We’re back for another season and hope for you all to join us again! Registration process will start soon!

Here’s a rough overview of our timeline:

Announcing game pool and starting registration: 10th of June
End of registration: 28th of June
Announcing divisions and setting vetoes: 1st-10th of July
Season Start: 15th of July
Season lasts from mid-July to end of October

Right now we are working on the game pool for next season. It’s been a while since you filled out the feedback form (thanks to everyone who did!). We assume you might’ve found some new and great games in the meantime. Some last suggestions for us to consider for the new game pool can be made by commenting here.

Om Allround League

The Allround League is a tournament for playing a mix of various games. In each season, there is a pool of 70-100 different games and the players have matches with games that are randomly drawn from this pool.

The tournament is organized as a league with groups of 8 players and promotion + relegation between groups. During a 3-4-month season, the participants play a 9-game match of random games against each of the 7 other player within their group.

So this is for players who are interested in a wide range of games and who are willing to compete in whatever comes. It's a chance of learning new games or to play again some games you almost forgot about.
