Table configuration option: live scoring.
Some players like to know the current state of endgame scoring live during the game. If enabled, as well as each player's terraforming rating, display their "endgame points" and total point. "Endgame" as in, the endgame scoring each player would score if the game ended now with no more actions taken.
Awards, Milestones, Cities, Greenery, and played cards are all public information so this could always be calculated manually, but in a digital version the machine can calculate it for you simply. However some people don't like this for various reasons, so make it optional.
It would be nice to also have a UI button which pops up a table showing the contribution of different categories of scoring to this "endgame" score.
This suggestion is similar to many other popular games on BGA such as Agricola.• Venligst forklar hvad du ønsker at gøre, hvad du gjorde og hvad der skete

Rapporthistorik
I have far less of a problem with live scoring in games with a fixed number of rounds.
If there will be an option to turn off live scoring, please make live scoring the default and make those who, for whatever reason, want to count points by themselves turn it off.
The same could be applied to knowing who to hit on a destructive card effect.
As was said before, none of it is secret info so having a counter just speeds up the game as it makes gameplay decisions quicker.
I think the only quibble is whether or not to give a current accounting of awards points when calculating the live score. I would say no since those points aren't "live" and calculating them would mean predicting income and intentions (someone might get enough plants to place a greenery but choose not to, for instance). but just having a running counter summing card points, milestones points, and board points with TR would be quite handy
I want my BGA experience to match my in real life experience, I am 99% sure in real life people are not counting everyone's exact score and deciding when to end the game, end game score is deliberately hard to work out, imo you are not meant to have perfect knowledge.
Throwing “real life experience” against live scoring is a weak argument at best.
* The number in the brown ball to the upper right of the players TR only shows the TR. Now if you click on it, it shows the accumulated scoring, adding in the greenery, city, and card points. Probably, instead of always duplicating the TR number, it should show the accumulated score number.
* The accumulated score right now does not include points for Jupiter multipliers, Immigration Shuttles, and I think Commercial District. (The end-of-game scoring does get these right.)
Personally if I see how much behind I really am I would not be that encouraged to finish the game.
If that remained, then the full score would still be 1 click away.
When people say they want the option to not have it, they aren't saying they don't just want to see the score show up, as if its some kind of spoiler they want to avoid. Its because they don't want any one in their game to see it, because it affects how people play.
Yes, people can manually count everything, but as in the board game, especially in live games, people don't bother to go through all that alot of the time, and if they do, they likely won't always get it 100% accurate.
I think even the 'VPs' on cards tally should have an option to be hidden too, personally. But if that isn't, I'm not so fussed.
To satisfy both we need game option, which has to be set during game creation,
possible values
- No live scroring - points are not updated (as now), and No score preview available either (unlike now)
- Live scoring - points are updated (unlike now), and score preview available (which explains the score, like now)
- No live scoring, but preview availale - exactly like now (i.e. its not in your face, so it up to you to peek or not)
Thoughts?
That being said, it's not a huge deal, and the most important part is that it's there. Forcing people to count scores themselves on a highly competitive platform just results in slower games and seems completely pointless to me.
Having the possibility to have it hidden has several advantages, which have already been discussed here :
- If I see I'm 30 points behind I won't see the point of trying anymore
- If everyone sees at all times who has the most points, they will just strike that one until he isn't first anymore
- If I see I am behind I know that I have to take some more risks to win, instead of just having to gauge it
If it isn't displayed, it makes the game more "spontaneous", which I like.
Some people who like to optimize and have knowledge at all times. And it's great, we all want to have fun.
It would also make total sense to have it displayed automatically for arena games.
Saying "you don't have to look at it" misses the point that if one has access to the information, he has an advantage.
@Victoria_La the 3 options you suggested are perfect, thanks for your great work!
If its not set - there is user choice to see it or not, which is controled by user preference - its on by default
