General
- Don't get so caught up in trying to capture your opponent's pieces (or defend your pieces) that you forget that the goal of the game is to capture territory. Conversely, don't forget to protect your pieces from attack. It is not always a good idea to push into your opponent's territory unless you have a re-enforcements to back it up. A solitary ship in the enemy territory can become isolated and vulnerable but can also become bothersome if it is able to attack the enemy from behind their lines.
- Often you will rotate the piece you intend to move next turn.
- Sometimes you can use this to misdirect your opponent instead.
