NekonyancerIn *Rumble Nation,* players will take turns rolling dice to place soldiers onto the board. When everyone has placed all their soldiers, the *war* will be evaluated. Each player will earn points for each territory in which they have more soldiers than anyone else. They will also earn *reinforcements* for other territories that haven't fought yet! NekonyancerBGA picked us as the first player, so let's get started! On our turn, we can either... • Roll 3 dice. • Play a Tactic card. We'll focus on rolling dice for now. *Click on [blue]"Roll the Dice"[/blue] at the top!*3button_dice

NekonyancerAfter rolling, we have the option of *rerolling* all of the dice. We can only reroll *once,* and if we do, we must reroll *all three* dice. In this case, I'm satisfied with our first roll.1rb_die_2

NekonyancerNext, we have to select *one* of the three dice. This die will determine *how many* soldiers we'll place on the board this turn. [blue]If the die is...[/blue] • a *1 or 2,* we'll place *1* soldier. • a *3 or 4,* we'll place *2* soldiers. • a *5 or 6,* we'll place *3* soldiers.2rb_playdice

NekonyancerThe two dice that we *don't* select will be added together to determine *where* we will place the soldier(s). If you look at the board, you'll see that each territory has a token with a number from *2-12.* Our soldiers will go to the territory with the number that equals the sum of the two unselected dice.3rb_playdice

NekonyancerFor instance, if we choose a *2* as our single die, we'll place just *one* soldier on Territory *6* (4+2). If we choose the *4* as our single die, we'll place *two* soldiers on Territory *4* (2+2).4rb_playdice

NekonyancerIf you look at the board, you'll see that BGA helpfully circled [red]*Territories 4 and 6*[/red] for us and showed how many soldiers we would place in each one if we selected that option.5rb_playdice

NekonyancerPlacing two soldiers in Territory 4 looks pretty good to me. *Click on the 4-die to select it as our single die. Then [red]"Confirm"[/red] your choice at the top.*6rb_playdice

NekonyancerSpeaking of war, let's learn about how it works. Then we'll understand why we might want to deploy in one territory instead of another. NekonyancerEach *Castle Token* is worth victory points equal to its number. That means winning Territory *12* is worth *12* victory points. Winning Territory *2* is only worth *2* points! [green][tip] In games with 3 or 4 players, each territory will also have a secondary Castle Token for the second strongest player![/green]3maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerOur opponent placed two soldiers on Territory 2, even though the token is only worth 2 points. [red]Was this a tactical error?[/red]4rb_token_soldier_30

NekonyancerNot at all, because of *reinforcements.* Whenever a player wins a territory, they will gain an *extra soldier* in each adjacent territory, as long as... • The player already has at least one soldier in it. AND • It hasn't been evaluated yet.5rb_token_soldier_30

NekonyancerAnd remember, territories are evaluated *in order* from 2 to 12. [green]Territories with low numbers may be worth fewer points, but their reinforcements will be more helpful![/green] Let's take a couple more turns together with all that in mind.6rb_token_soldier_31

NekonyancerHmm. 3 Soldiers in Territory 7 or 1 Soldier in Territory 12. We already have a few soldiers in Territory 7, and we don't want to waste too many soldiers on a single territory. Putting 1 soldier in 12 wouldn't be bad, but I'd personally rather secure lower numbers to get reinforcements. *Click on [blue]"Reroll all!"[/blue]*1rb_playdice

NekonyancerHeh. Well, I guess we don't have a choice here, do we? Fortunately, two soldiers in Territory 6 doesn't look bad. If we win it, it will make our army in Territory 7 stronger. *Click on Territory 6. [red]Confirm.[/red]*1rb_playdice

NekonyancerHmm. Our opponent placed two soldiers in Territory *4,* tying with us. We could simply place more soldiers there, but I have a different idea. If we win Territory *3,* we'll gain a reinforcing soldier in Territory *4,* which will be enough to tip the scales in our favor. Unfortunately, we don't have the option of deploying in Territory *3.* [blue]... or do we?[/blue]1rb_token_castle_2

NekonyancerOnce per game, instead of rolling dice on their turn, each player may claim one of the Tactic cards and execute its effects. The [red]*Over the Mountain*[/red] card will let us move two soldiers into an adjacent territory. We can use it to get soldiers into Territory 3!2rb_card_front_1

NekonyancerNow BGA will start resolving battles, one by one, starting with Territory 2. In this case, our opponent has two soldiers and we have none, so they'll take the *Castle #2* token, which is worth 2 points. Then they'll add a Reinforcement to Territory *8* because it's *adjacent* and they have at least 1 soldier there. [green](Step 30/34)[/green]2rb_token_castle_1

NekonyancerBGA will then move on to Territory *3,* which we'll win with no issues. We'll score 3 points and add Reinforcements to Territories 4, 6, and 9. This will go on until all the territories have been scored. [blue]Sit back for a minute and watch the show![/blue]3rb_token_castle_2

NekonyancerOnce you have more experience with the game, you might consider toggling the *Advanced variant* in the lobby options. If you do, each player will choose a *Daimyo* at the beginning of the game. Instead of rolling dice or playing a Tactic card on their turn, players may play their Daimyo card and execute whatever effects are specified on it.
